This is a guide to the archives of Brian Simon. Simon was a member of the Communist Party and a number of educational campaign groups. He was an advocate of comprehensive education and campaigned against intelligence testing and streaming. He was also interested in educational psychology. He began his career as a teacher in Salford but went on to become a Professor in the History of Education. He is the author of the seminal four volume 'Studies in Education'. 

This guide provides an overview of Simon's work in education and the subjects covered in his archive.
