National Commission on Education (NCE)
Set up in 1991 the Commission's remit was to consider all phases of education and training throughout the whole of the United Kingdom and to identify and examine key issues arising over the next 25 years. It published its report in 1993.
National Council for Voluntary Youth Service (NCV)
Records of the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services, 1936-2011, including conference minute books; committee minute books; circulars; conference papers; reports and publications; bulletins; and project papers.
National Union of Women Teachers (UWT)
The NUWT was a feminist organisation established in 1904 to fight for equal pay for women teachers. It became involved in a wide range of issues relating to women's rights including the suffrage movement, as well as wider education and social policies. It disbanded in 1961 once its initial aim had been achieved.
Networks for Information Adult Learning (IAL)
Active between 1983 and 1990 the Networks comprised individuals from adult education, voluntary agencies and broadcasting backgrounds. Members met to promote adult learning through personal networks such as self-help groups. This collection is not catalogued
Peter NEWSAM (PAN)
Newsam was a teacher before becoming Chief Education Officer of the Inner London Education Authority (1975-1981). He was Chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality from 1981-1985 and was Director of the Institute of Education, University of London from 1989-1994. This collection is not catalogued
