Archive Enquiry Service

Archive staff are happy to answer general enquiries relating to our collections and the services we provide. All written enquiries, including by e-mail, will be answered within 10 working days. Our full contact details can be found on the right. For further information on what we have in the Archives please see our detailed guide to the Archive Collections.

We can also:
• answer questions about the broad availability of archives on particular subjects
• direct researchers to likely sources of further information
• provide guidance on issues such as copyright clearance and access.

However, we are unable to undertake lengthy or complex research for users. In these cases it is suggested you either visit us or hire a professional researcher to undertake research on your behalf. We are happy to provide guidance on finding professional researchers if this is required. If you are interested in visiting us please see our page on Access and Location.
