Using Other Libraries: Senate House/University of London

Libraries in Bloomsbury

Before you make a trip elsewhere, we recommend that you search the Senate House Library catalogue as the library is only a few minutes away from the Newsam Library and Archives.

You will also find several libraries that are part of the various colleges and institutes of the University of London in and around Bloomsbury too.

20 colleges and institutes make up the University of London.

Reciprocal agreements mean that access and reference use is possible for most libraries within the University of London. Each university library has different registration requirements so please check their websites for information before visiting.


Senate House Library

Access to the University of London (Senate House) Library is by membership card only. Institute staff and students may obtain a borrowing membership card by taking their current Institute ID card to the Membership Desk at Senate House Library.

Membership offers access to the printed collections and also remote access to many databases and full text electronic resources
