About the Collection

This is an almost comprehensive collection of official reports, legislation and other publications on education and related subjects for all parts of the United Kingdom.

Publications of semi-official education organisations (quangos) are included, as are those of other groups (such as political parties and trade unions), when they relate to education.

The earliest documents date from the Government's first involvement in education in the 19th century, and new items are added to the collection as they appear.

Size: 200 metres of shelving of hard copy resources; 7500+ electronic resources.

Dates: c.1850 onwards

Accrual policy: Open. New publications are added as they appear.

Bedford Way

Hard copy resources are reference only and must be requested in advance at the library Enquiry Desk.

Most of the publications are listed in the library catalogue or, for electronic publications, search in the Digital Education Resource Archive (DERA).

Duplicate copies of many of the publications are also available in the library's Education and Reference collections.
Electronic resources may be accessed via DERA online.
